ARMORED COMBAT WORLDWIDE

About Armored Combat…

Armored Combat is fighters competing in medieval battles.

Armored combat refers to the sport of full-contact medieval combat, often called “Battlefield Medieval Combat or “HMB”, it’s a type of historical medieval combat reenactment.  It typically involves armored fighters using weapons and armor that are based on historical designs from the medieval period.  Combatants engage in one-on-one duels, as well as team battles and larger melees.

Armored combat is a sport that requires a high level of skill, fitness, and training. Participants typically wear armor that includes a helmet, breastplate, gauntlets, and greaves, and use weapons such as swords, maces, and shields. The goal of the sport is to strike the opponent with a legal strike in a legal target area of the body, while also avoiding being struck oneself.

The sport is governed by international organizations such as the International Medieval Combat Federation (IMCF), which sets the rules and regulations for competitions, as well as safety standards.  The armors and weapons used in the sport are designed to reduce the risk of injury and are rigorously tested before being used in competition.

Armored combat is a relatively new sport and it is still gaining popularity around the world, but it has a strong following, with national and international tournaments being held regularly. It’s a sport that combines athleticism, strategy, and historical accuracy, and it’s a unique way for people to experience and learn about medieval history, culture, and martial arts.
